I. MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

The regular season has come to an end and there were definitely some fireworks in the final weekend.  New England wraps up the top seed in the NFC and also has the best record in the league though NY Giants match that record and are the first ever team to win 15 games in our league and have to play in round 1. Denver is the top seed in the AFC, while San Francisco wrapped up #2 over there. A couple of teams made miraculous comebacks from the dead this season as both Philadelphia and Minnesota were for all intents and purposes done at the trade deadline, but both just kept on winning games and ended up sneaking into the playoffs. Despite a final week loss, Tennessee does hold on for the #7 seed in the AFC due to losses by Cleveland and LA Chargers. Everyone should enjoy the holidays, I will work on playoff files, hopefully by the weekend, so teams can get started with the wild card games whenever they are ready. Have a Merry Christmas to all and we’ll meet back here in a few days!

The draft lottery order is set at this point and we will do that once we get closer to Super Bowl. Here is the order pre-lottery:

1  Miami

2  Indianapolis

3  Tampa Bay

4  Jacksonville

5  Detroit
6  LA Rams
7  Houston
8  Atlanta

9  Seattle
10 NY Jets

11 Dallas

12 Chicago

13 Cleveland

14 LA Chargers

Please make sure to get started on game contacts asap and don’t forget to CC me on all of them so I can make sure games are getting set up smoothly. If you need a sub, feel free to find your own sub or contact me asap so we can try and get you hooked up with someone to get your game in.  Make sure you have the latest action update which is available on the website.  Game files are up for Wild Card Weekend, so make sure you go download them and start making contact for the wild card games. If you have any questions, now is the time, so please ask before we get too far into things.

I can’t stress enough that you need to IMMEDIATELY send me your game export when the game is complete.  Send your write up later on, that’s fine, but I MUST have the game export as soon as the game ends or I’ll have to sim the game to keep things moving along if it is missing at the deadline.

***There is a new game update available on the website, dated 11/2/24 ***

Reminder that you MUST send a boxscore and writeup to the league after each game.  The home team is responsible for this, but either team can do it, as long as it does get done.  Also, you MUST send me the game export immediately after the game is complete.  It takes about 30 seconds, so I shouldn’t have to chase you down for that file after a game, just get it in right away so I don’t have to guess whether a game has happened or not.

II. News from Around the League

In the AFC Denver just gets by Cleveland and is the #1 seed in the playoffs while San Francisco beats Indianapolis to lock up the #2 seed. Pittsburgh beats Houston and is the #3 seed and Tennessee falls to Dallas but still hold on to the #7 seed. Green Bay beats the LA Rams and Bufalo tops Detroit in a pair of close games and the Packers end up the #4 seed and host Buffalo who is the #5. Minnesota beats the LA Chargers and the Vikings are the #6 seed while the Chargers just miss out. NY Jets lose to Jacksonville and finish up with a better lottery position while Chicago beats Miami to finish just 1 game below .500.

In the NFC New England beats Arizona to lock up the #1 seed and NY Giants beat Tampa Bay and are the #2. New Orleans wins a shootout with Seattle and are the #3 seed while Kansas City tops Atlanta to be the #4 seed and earn a home game in round 1. Carolina falls to Philadelphia and end up the #6 seed while the Eagle find a way to squeak into the playoffs as the #7 seed. Houston falls to Pittsburgh and Detroit loses a close one to Buffalo. Miami falls to Chicago and locks up the #1 spot in the lottery and Jacksonville beats the NY Jets and move down to the #4 seed in the lottery.

Coming up in the AFC Denver gets the bye in round 1 and San Francisco will host Tennessee in a 3rd matchup between the two this season. Pittsburgh hosts Minnesota in a matchup that hasn’t happened in a long time with both teams having injury/usage issues and Green Bay will host Buffalo in another division matchup looking to see who can break the tie between the two.

Coming up in the NFC New England has earned the bye in round 1, while NY Giants are the first 15-2 team in ISFL history to actually have to play a game in round 1 as they host Philadelphia who squeaked into the playoffs on the final day. New Orleans gets a division matchup with Carolina while Kansas City hosts Arizona in the fight to get out of the wild card round.
