MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
We are coming
down to the final 4 weeks of the season, just 18 games left to play
and the playoff races are in full swing and very different between the
two conferences. In the
East, Washington, Arizona and Philadelphia have 2 points between them
for the top of the Horton and Anaheim sits just 3 points further back
in the first wild card spot.
NY Rangers have a 13 point lead and look to be in control of
the Howe and top spot in the conference, but NY Islanders and Chicago
have 2 points between them for the #2 spot and home ice in round 1.
New Jersey sits in wild card 2, five points back of Anaheim but
only 3 points up on Detroit. Carolina has crawled back into the race
just 8 points out while Buffalo and St. Louis appear to be heading for
the links already. Out
West Dallas has a huge 12 point lead in the Orr division while San
Jose and Montreal are just 2 points apart in the race for the 2nd
spot and home ice in round 1.
Florida leads Pittsburgh by 7 points in the Lemieux but the
Pens hold an 11 point lead for #2 over Vancouver who is locked into no
worse than 3rd but likely in the playoffs.
The wild card round is a mess with Boston pretty solidly in at
62 points but then you have Edmonton in the second wild card spot at
55 but 4 teams behind them all within 7 points of that spot, so anyone
could still make it in with a good block.
Please, double
check that are you importing each teams coach before playing games as
it still appears to be an issue and I really hate having to redo the
files multiple times each block.
Block 8 is
finished and the updated league file and Excel file are on the
website. Remember that all
injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all players are limited
to the exact number of NHL games from last year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a
regular coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for
each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a
lot more flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your
first 4 road games, please send that out to the list (and list who the
coach is for so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to start using the
strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did
in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 1/11/2023.
You
need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one
quick comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it
easier for everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending
updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of
time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will
sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
