MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
Playoff races
are heating up with just 2 weeks left until the trade deadline and a
few moves were made this block, will the deadline be busy or quiet
again this year? In the East, the NY Rangers are running away with
things as they hold an 11 point lead in their division and only one
other team within 16 points.
The Horton division is a tight race with 3 teams within 3
points of the top spot and then 4 teams are fighting for the two
wildcard spots with only Buffalo, St. Louis and Carolina looking to be
out of the race. Out West
Florida has a large league, 7 points on Pittsburgh and 10 on Dallas.
The Stars lead their division over Montreal by 6 points and
Vancouver and San Jose are both solidly in playoff positions.
Boston and Edmonton hold down the 2 wild card spots though LA,
Colorado and Calgary are all within 5 points of the Oilers and alive
for the final spot. Only Toronto is out of the race at 12 points back
and too many teams to jump. Will be interesting to see if any of the
borderline teams decide they can get in the race and make some moves,
or decide to call the season and be sellers like Buffalo has chosen to
do already this block.
Block 6 is
finished and the updated league file and Excel file is on the website.
Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT
all players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last
year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular
coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game,
then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more
flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road
games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for
so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to start using the
strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did
in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 1/11/2023.
You
need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one
quick comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it
easier for everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending
updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of
time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will
sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
