MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
We have
officially hit the halfway point of the season and the playoff races
are underway. We had another trade and I expect with the deadline just
4 weeks away we will see more this next couple of weeks as well. In
the West, we have 5 teams who are the class of the group, then San
Jose who is hanging around and made a move to try and play catchup by
adding Pavelski, and other than Toronto the rest are fighting it out
for the two wild card spots with 6 points between 5 teams. The East is
a lot tighter with only the NY Rangers pulling away and then a big
group in the middle and 3 teams who are barely hanging on (Buffalo,
St. Louis and Carolina) but no one is totally out of the playoff race.
Will be interesting to see who decides to start making some
moves this block as we keep moving forward.
Block 5 is
finished and the updated league file and Excel file is on the website.
Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT
all players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last
year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular
coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game,
then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more
flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road
games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for
so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to start using the
strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did
in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 1/11/2023.
You need
to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home games by
the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY, both the
exports AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment
for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it
easier for everyone to see what is
going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more
request directly about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait
til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed
Sunday night.
