MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
Block 4 is
complete and while no one is totally out of the fight, there is a lot
of space between 1st and last in each division right now.
Some teams are already making plans to be sellers at the
deadline (NY Islanders have announced their intention to make moves)
and there are a few obvious buyers including Dallas who makes the
first trade of the regular season with St. Louis as they look to shore
things up on the forward ranks.
No real surprises at the top of the scoring leader board with
Draisaitl and McDavid leading the way, but then there are a ton of
players within striking distance for points, though Draisaitl is
looking to run away and hide in the goal scoring race up by 9 already
and averaging a goal a game. After block 5 we will be halfway through
the season and playoff standings will be posted, so look for more on
that soon.
Block 4 is
finished and the updated league file and Excel file is on the website.
Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT
all players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last
year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular
coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game,
then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more
flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road
games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for
so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to start using the
strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did
in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 1/11/2023.
You
need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one
quick comment for all 4 games, just adds to
the league and makes it easier for everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive
game exports after sending updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send
one more request directly about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of
time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will
sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
