MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

We finally see our first upsets in round 2 as Chicago downs the mighty Rangers offense in seven games on the road and Philadelphia sweeps through he Capitals with 4 close wins. Four very even and worthy teams going forward into the conference finals and you can expect a couple of very competitive matchups that should go 6 or 7 games each.

If anyone has any more prop ballot ideas, it’s time to get going and finish that discussion up though things have been quiet (look for something from me again on the lottery as the NHL lottery just doesn’t suit our needs anymore).  Get those ideas out there asap.

Awards ballot is still going for anyone who wants to put in a vote, there is the link for those who still need it - https://shout.com/s/liS06wkR

Round 3 matchups are set, here they are and some comments on how I think the series may go. Playoff info is below including overuse of players and who may have to miss what during each series (I ignored anyone who missed just 1 game, anything beyond that has penalties listed). If you can show me where a wrong coach was used then penalties can be rescinded.

Prince of Wales Conference

Philadelphia vs Chicago

After no upsets in round 1, round 2 that is all we see as both the top seeds in each division falls, with the Caps going out in 4 and the Rangers falling on home ice in 7.  Now we get a pair of #2 seeds going at it for the conference final and Philadelphia won the season series, 3 to 1. By the numbers, these two teams are very evenly matched on both offense and defense and this will come down to whether Andersen for the Flyers and Kuemper for the Hawks can get hot and steal a game on the road to make things easier for their team.  This one will go the distance and in the end home ice will win out for Chicago.

Clarence Campbell Conference

Dallas vs Florida

Things went to form in the Campbell as Florida outlasted the Penguins and Dallas had an easier time taking down the Sharks.  The two teams split the season series and like the matchup in the other conference these two teams are almost dead even both on offense and defense.  Again, this one will come down to goaltending and who gets hot, with Dallas and Ullmark holding a bit of an edge, but the Panthers defense may even that out. This time, I think we will see our first upset in the Campbell as the Stars will win this one in 6 games on home ice after stealing a game in Florida.

Please, double check that are you importing each team’s coach before playing games as it still appears to be an issue and I really hate having to redo the files multiple times each block.

Playoff files are on the main page of the website, please get them and get started on playing games. The playoff usage rules are listed below:
