THE COMMISSIONER
And we are on
to the final block of the season with 10 games left to play and all
within the division and we have some big time matchups left to play
out, especially in the Horton where there is 3 points between 1st
and 4th place.
I will send out updated playoff standings as I get some results that
will make a difference in the races.
Please watch your usage very closely, anyone who overuses
players needs to account for them or they will lose players for the
playoffs and also draft pick penalties, so check your usage before
your send your coach this block. Also make sure you have the latest
Hockey.exe file in your game before you play games this block (some
have not updated yet and need to do so). Good luck to all!
In the Howe,
Washington leads the way, but Anaheim sits in 4th place
just 3 points back and Arizona and Philadelphia are in between an any
can win the division and any can end up the #1 wild card (technically
someone from the Howe could catch them but with an 11 point lead it is
unlikely). In the Howe, NY Rangers lead the division by 14 points and
any combination of 3 wins by them or 3 losses by Chicago will give
them both the division and conference and #1 seed in the East. Chicago
and NY Islanders are in a dog fight for the #2 seed and home ice in
round 1. New Jersey leads
for the second wild card spots by 2 points over both Detroit and
Carolina, so should go right to the end to see who makes the playoffs.
St. Louis appears to be locked into the basement of the conference
while Buffalo sits in no mans land with about 10 points between both 8th
and 12th and nowhere really to go.
The big race
in the Campbell conference is in the Lemieux where Florida’s lead has
dwindled to 4 points over Pittsburgh for the division and conference
lead. Vancouver is solidly
locked into the #3 seed and just waits to see who their opponent will
be in round 1. In the Orr,
Dallas has a 10 point lead over San Jose and can clinch with a
combination of 5 wins and 5 losses from the Sharks.
Montreal is still there just 5 points back of San Jose and
could still get home ice in round 1 but are locked into that matchup
regardless. Boston holds
wild card #1 and a 7 point lead over Los Angeles who has a tenuous
grasp on wild card #2 with a 4 point lead over Edmonton and Calgary
and then Colorado only 2 more points back.
Toronto is done and leads St. Louis by 1 point for the #1 slot
in this years lottery.
Please, double
check that are you importing each teams coach before playing games as
it still appears to be an issue and I really hate having to redo the
files multiple times each block.
Block 9 is
finished and the updated league file and Excel file are on the
website. Remember that all
injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all players are limited
to the exact number of NHL games from last year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a
regular coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for
each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a
lot more flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your
first 4 road games, please send that out to the list (and list who the
coach is for so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to start using the
strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did
in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 3/23/2023.
You
need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 5 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one
quick comment for all 5 games, just adds to the league and makes it
easier for everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending
updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of
time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will
sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
