MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

So now we move on to the playoffs, 16 teams move on while 8 of us are done for the season (don’t go away yet though as we have a couple of things to finish up first).  Playoffs will start a little slowly as we have a couple of owners away, so I have extended the deadlines a little bit to accommodate this.  So take your time and feel free to use the hth option if you so choose (but it is NOT a requirement).  Good luck to everyone involved, and see below for matchups and rules for playoff usage.  Please be sure you get the new Action PC game update before you play any playoff games.

In the Prince of Wales Conference, St. Louis takes the top spot and they will face WC #2, the last team in to the playoffs, Carolina, who just edged Anaheim in the final game.  Washington finishes well ahead of Philadelphia and has home ice in their first round match up.  Detroit finished second in the conference and will face WC #1 which is the NY Islanders in round 1.  NY Rangers just edged New Jersey and hold home ice in their match up.

In the Clarence Campbell Conference, Toronto takes the top spot (also for the league) and they will host Colorado who were the second wild card qualifier.  Dallas finishes well ahead of San Jose and will get the extra game in round 1.  Calgary rides a huge final block of games to surge to the #2 spot in the conference and they earn a first round matchup with Montreal who just edged the Avs for the wild card positioning.  Edmonton wins a few more OT games and this gives them home ice against Florida in round 1.

Playoff usage rules are listed below, please be sure you follow these to the letter as I will be spot checking rosters to make sure no one is using a player more than is allowed.  Play the series at your own pace but they are due by the deadline, so try and not leave it all for the final weekend.  You may send a coach for each individual game or any combination that you choose, just make sure you are clear with your opponent what you are sending (ie is it for games 1 and 2, just game 1 so you can adjust after game 2, or you can even do games 1 thru 7 all at once if you choose). Any questions on the playoffs, please let me know before proceeding so we can ensure that we are all on the same page.
