MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

So down to just 2 blocks, 18 games, left in the season and the playoff races are in full swing. In the Prince of Wales conference, Washington has a two point lead in the Horton division and Detroit has a 6 point lead in the Howe division to lead the way.  St. Louis is then 20 points ahead of Philadelphia in the Horton and pretty well can finish no lower than second.  New Jersey has a 1 point lead on NY Rangers in the Howe for 2nd place while the Rangers are 7 points up on the Islanders for 3rd.  NY Islanders are in the top wild card spot right now with Carolina two points ahead of Anaheim for the second wild card.  Arizona sits 10 points out of the playoffs, while both Buffalo and Chicago are pretty well cooked and fighting for the #1 overall spot in the lottery.  In the Campbell conference Toronto sits in their usual spot at the top of the Orr, 11 points up on Dallas while Edmonton holds a 1 point lead on Florida for the top spot in the Lemieux.  Dallas sits second in the Orr, 11 points up on Montreal who is in 3rd, 4 points ahead of San Jose.  Calgary sits in 3rd, 6 points back of Florida and 7 points up on Colorado.  Colorado and San Jose are tied for the wild card spots, 6 points ahead of Boston who is on the outside looking in with Los Angeles just a point behind them.  Pittsburgh is 10 points out and Vancouver right now holds the #1 overall spot in the lottery, 4 points up on Buffalo/Chicago.  Look for another update after block 9!

FYI, I will be away during most of block 10, so while the due date is Sunday the 28th, as long as you get games in by Monday night you will be fine as at best I will get to them then and maybe not until Tuesday.

So now we have Pittsburgh and Colorado left to fill, so if anyone knows of an owner who may be interested let me know, otherwise I will continue to use the sheet that the Donn gave me to put out a lineup for them each block while Alex covers Pittsburgh for the rest of the year.

For this season, Injuries will be done as coaches decisions (we may go back to the old way next year if everyone picks up the game quickly, but will address that later).  If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more flexibility.

Block 9 is ready and the updated league file and Excel file is on the website.  Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last year, so plan accordingly.  As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).  Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.  I am going to start using the strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did in the past so they are easy to find when needed.

**** IMPORTANT  - Action PC Game File Update dated 01/09/2019.

You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY, both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick
comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after
sending updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an
extension of time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
