MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
Overall a
pretty good first block considering all of the issues with game
change, ownership changes and getting up to speed pretty late in the
game. Thanks to all for working with me as well as you did this block
and getting everything in on time.
Good luck in block 2 as we head towards the holiday break.
So, ownership
turnover continues unfortunately as a couple of long time owners have
decided to step away from the game.
Mike McIlmoyle has decided to leave but we have Tom Bond who is
stepping right in to take over the team and will be in charge starting
with block 2. Also today
Donn Campbell has decided that real life just won’t let him continue
right now, so we have an open team in Colorado right now which I am
going to be looking for someone to take over (if you know if anyone,
send them my way!).
I am sending
this part again from Block 1 newsletter, please read it if you have
any questions (and if they are still unanswered just ask and I will
find you the answer). Please, be sure you read the emails I sent out
with the Word Docs that help explain how to use the coach files. For
this season, Injuries will be done as coaches decisions (we may go
back to the old way next year if everyone picks up the game quickly,
but will address that later).
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a
regular coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for
each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a
lot more flexibility. If
you have questions, please let me know and we will make sure we get
all 24 teams up and running.
Block 2 is
ready and the updated league file is on the website.
Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT
all players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last
year, so plan accordingly.
As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road games, please
send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for so it is
easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to start using the
strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did
in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update
dated 12/04/2018. Please
make sure you update with this file before playing any block 2 games.
You
need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one
quick comment for all 4 games, just adds to
the league and makes it easier for
everyone to see what is going
on.
If I do not receive game exports after
sending updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more
request directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an
extension of time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30
minutes later I will sim games so I can get new files out before I go
to bed Sunday night.
