MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Prince of Wales goes as planned as the Islanders easily down the Sabres who get no goaltending and no offense but the Campbell sees the biggest upset of the playoffs as Colorado takes out San Jose in a 4 game sweep to move on to their first RHL Cup Final. Great seasons for Buffalo and San Jose but they stumble at the final hurdle and our Final is Colorado vs NY Islanders, teams with 29 points between them in the standings but the way the Avs have played this should end up being a good series.  I have included the usage rules for those who need them.  Download the Finals playoff files from the website and do the normal monthly file import that you would do during the regular season and you will be ready to create strats and play games in the Finals. Please get going on strats asap and most of all have fun guys!

RHL Cup Final Playoff Matchups

Colorado vs NY Islanders

In the lottery standings we have Los Angeles far and away in the #1 slot, with Florida #2, Chicago #3 and Phoenix and St. Louis both tied for #4 (though the Blues finish with less ROW and will take the #4 slot with the Coyotes falling to #5).  Boston gets the #6 position and NY Rangers and Vancouver are tied for 7th but the Canucks take it with 1 less ROW, so the Rangers are #8 in the lottery.

The lottery was run today and we have the order set for the top 8 spots in round 1 of this years draft. First ball out was #43 and the #1 overall pick stays with Los Angeles.  After taking out LA’s 45 chances, the next ball out was #20, so Florida stays #2 in the draft.  And after removing Floriday’s 20 chances, the next ball out was #10 and Chicago stays at #3.  This may be the first time in the lottery where no one changed positions.  The order is listed below.

You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all playoff games by the deadline. This is MANDATORY, both the exports AND boxscores please.   Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for everyone to see what is going on.

PLAYOFF USAGE LIMITS FOR SKATERS:

        1) 60 or more NHL games can play all playoff games (per series)
        2) 55-59 NHL games      6 playoff games
        3) 50-54 NHL games      5 playoff games
        4) 40-49 NHL games      4 playoff games
        5) 30-39 NHL games      3 playoff games
        6) 20-29 NHL games      2 playoff games
        7) 10-19 NHL games      1 playoff game

      PLAYOFF USAGE LIMITS FOR GOALTENDERS
Goalies with 1-14 games may only dress as backups
Goalies with 15-19 games may only start 1 game per series (but may dress as backups in all other games)
Goalies with 20-24 games may only start 2 games per series (but may dress as backups in all other games)
Goalies with 25-29 games may only start 3 games per series (but may dress as backups in all other games)
Goalies with 30+ games may start all playoff games in a series (or may be dressed as a backup)

Injury backups may only play if the computer pulls the starter due to an injury OR the team is down by 4 or more goals at any time in the game (a mercy rule basically). The second part may be accomplished by a computer setting for road games that is defined as a team being down by 4 or more goals OR by a home coach making this decision when his team is down by 4 or more goals.

Once a goalie has made his maximum allowable starts he must follow all rules for Injury backups as stated above.
