THE COMMISSIONER
Regular season
is complete with some tight finishes for playoff spots that went down
to the very last set of games. Thanks for another great regular season
guys, I will put out a playoff newsletter with the playoff files, but
below you can see the results of the playoff races and congratulations
to those who made the playoffs and good luck planning for the draft
for those few who didn’t quite get there.
In the Prince
of Wales conference, New Jersey takes the Howe division and also the
top spot in the conference.
They top the Isles by 2 points and they will host Detroit in
round 1. Carolina takes
the top wildcard spot and will cross over and face Philadelphia who
wins the Horton but finishes a point back of the Devils for the top
spot overall. Anaheim
finishes 4 points up on Buffalo in the Horton and will host them in
round 1 and Washington rounds out the playoff teams as they finish 3
points ahead of NY Rangers for the final playoff spot.
In the
Campbell Conference Toronto takes the Orr division and top spot in the
conference and get to face off with Edmonton in round 1 as they take
the #2 wild card spot. San
Jose finishes 2 points back and they get a tough matchup with Dallas
who beats out Montreal for 3rd in the division but get the
much tougher round 1 game because of it as Montreal finishes as the
top wildcard and cross over to play Pittsburgh in round 1.
Calgary just edges out Colorado to earn home ice in their
series and Edmonton just beat out Vancouver and Boston for that last
wildcard position.
In the lottery
standings we have Los Angeles far and away in the #1 slot, with
Florida #2, Chicago #3 and Phoenix and St. Louis both tied for #4
(though the Blues finish with less ROW and will take the #4 slot with
the Coyotes falling to #5).
Boston gets the #6 position and NY Rangers and Vancouver are
tied for 7th but the Canucks take it with 1 less ROW, so
the Rangers are #8 in the lottery.
A couple more
players overused but overall just 6 players for the entire season is a
huge improvement over what we have seen in the past. Due to the issues
with the game and strats and the fact that all the overuse was just a
single game we will chalk this one up to a game issue and there won’t
be any penalties involved this year.
We do need to send out strats for the playoffs, so please get
those out on time and double check your usage before you do so as
players are still limited by actual games played for playoff games.
Playoff files should be out in a day or so and we can get the second
season started.
You need to
send out game exports as well as boxscores for all playoff games by
the deadline. This is MANDATORY, both the exports AND boxscores
please. Game
summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment for all 4
games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for everyone to see
what is going on.
