MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
And we are
down to the final 10 games of the season and while a lot of the
playoff slots are set, seeding is very up in the air and some teams
are still alive to make it in to the second season.
In the Prince of Wales, Philadelphia has already wrapped up the
Horton division with a 26 point lead and now they try and catch the
Isles and Devils at the top of the conference.
Buffalo, Anaheim and Washington are all tied for second in the
division and seeded in that order due to ROW, so the Caps sit as the
#2 wildcard holding a 6 point lead over the NY Rangers and 14 points
over St. Louis. NY
Islanders lead the Howe by 3 points over the Devils and both are well
clear of third place Detroit who holds a 5 point lead over Carolina
who hold the #1 wildcard by 7 points over Washington.
NY Rangers sit 15 points back of the Canes, so their best
chance is catching someone from the Horton for the #2 wildcard while
Phoenix and Chicago are all but mathematically eliminated and fighting
for the #1 seed in the lottery.
In the
Campbell Conference Toronto leads San Jose by 2 points for both the
Orr division and the conference with no one from the other division
near enough to challenge.
Dallas and Montreal are tied for third in the division with Dallas one
ROW win ahead and Montreal solidly in the first wild card slot with a
15 point lead over the next closest teams.
Pittsburgh leads the Lemieux by 11 points over Calgary and
Colorado is 2 points further back in third place. The Avs lead
Edmonton and Vancouver by 4 points with the Oilers just barely in the
final wild card position.
Boston is only a point back, so there are a lot of positions in the
Lemieux still alive as well as the final wild card slot.
Florida and Los Angeles are the only two teams officially out
of the playoffs with the Kings 7 points up for last place in the
league.
Two more players overused but I am going to chalk that
up to strat confusion this block.
That said, EVERYONE has a chance to check their usage before
block 10 begins. All you
need to do is go into your strat and check how many games the players
you are going to use have left, there really is no reason for anyone
to get overused this block. We do need to send out strats, so please
get those out on time and double check your usage before you do so.
Good luck to all and I will try and put out standings updates as soon
as I get enough games that matter!
Block 10 is
ready and the updated league file is on the website.
Remember to plan for your correct injury games each block and
you need to upload a strat for the 5 home games by Wednesday night
(remember they all upload automatically each time you save them or
assign strats to games).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 5 home strats as well both
for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for any
reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is defined
and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
You need to
send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 5 home games by the
second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY, both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment
for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly about an
hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait
til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will sim games so I can
get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
