MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER 

Eight blocks in the books, thanks to all for having everything in on time.  Playoff races are in full swing and some interesting results so far.  In the Prince of Wales, Philadelphia has a 20 point lead in the Horton Division with Buffalo and Washington tied for 2^nd and Anaheim just a point back and 12 points up on 5^th place.  The Howe division is tighter with NY Islanders up 4 points on New Jersey and then Carolina and Detroit 18 points back tied for 3^rd with them both 12 points up from 5^th.  Without a big push from the 4 teams out of the playoffs right now, we may already have our 8 teams set in this conference.  In the Campbell conference, the Orr division is tight at the top with Toronto 3 points up on San Jose followed by Montreal and Dallas who are 12 and 13 points back respectively but Dallas is still 11 points up in the wild card.  The Lemieux division isn’t as close with Pittsburgh up 13 points on Vancouver in second place and Colorado a point back in 3^rd and Edmonton tied with Calgary 3 points back and looking at the #2 wildcard slot.  LA and Florida are out of the playoffs for all intents while Boston is hanging around 5 points out of the wildcard.  We had our second player overused, still not bad with only two blocks to go, but this is where usage gets tight, so please, double check when you make your strats as the game will tell you how many games guys have left as you create them (double check if you made strats for the final two blocks already).  Good luck to all as this block may mean the end for some teams while other may clinch their playoff spots with 10 games still left to play.

Block 9 is ready and the updated league file is on the website.  Remember to plan for your correct injury games each block and you need to upload a strat for the 4 home games by Wednesday night (remember they all upload automatically each time you save them or assign strats to games).  Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.

You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY, both the exports AND boxscores please.   Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for everyone to see what is going on.  If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.  Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
