MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
And so the 2025-2026 RHL season ends as we
finally have completed our prop ballot and the awards and it is time
to start thinking about next year, our 27th. If anyone is
planning on not returning (I assume not since we all voted on the
props), please let me know asap. Otherwise I am going to start working
on the normal offseason updates I do including getting the coaching
records updated on the website as well as setting up a new Excel file.
On that note, if anyone has a good Excel file of this past seasons NHL
stats, I would greatly appreciate those as it makes it easier for me
to get going on the new file. At this point, not much for the rest of
you to do as we will have to wait for the new game, hopefully earlier
than we have had it in past years maybe. Thanks to all for another
great season, enjoy your summer and we’ll reconvene hear hopefully in
September!
2025-2026 RHL Props Ballot Results
OK guys, finally have all 24 votes in
and here are the results. I will update the constitution as needed.
Prop #1 - Using Centers out of Position

Prop Failed.
Prop #2 - Prior to
every playoff series, the two opponents need to decide how a game 7
will be handled and let the commissioner know before any games are
played. There are three options that the two teams can agree to:
1. play the game hth using the built in ability of the ActionPC
game.
2. ask the commissioner to sim game 7
3. road
team can choose to let the home team play the game as normal
If the two teams can not come to an understanding then the game 7 will
be simmed by the commissioner.

I will add prop #2 into the constitution
and it will go into effect for next seasons playoffs.
2025-2026 RHL Awards Results
Guys, here are the results for
2025-2026 RHL Awards, congratulations to the winners and thanks to the
22 teams who were able to vote, really appreciate that level of
participation.
Wayne Gretzky Award (MVP) - David Pastrnak,
Boston
Pasta wins this one pretty easily as he shows up on 13
ballots, the only player on more than 10 ballots, and his 11 first
place votes makes him the runaway winner. Draisaitl picks up 3 first
place votes and finishes second, just a single point ahead of
Binnington who was on a pair of ballots at the top. Robertson with 3,
was the only other player with multiple first place votes, while
Hellebucyk, Vasilevskiy and Hutson all got a single top vote.
Terry Sawchuk Trophy (MVG) - Andrei Vasilevskiy, NY Rangers
Rangers finally make the move for one of the best goalies and it
pays off both in the standings and in the awards, though Vasi is the
only winner who didn't have the most first place votes (7), but being
on 18 of 22 ballots propelled him to the top ahead of Binnington who
had 9 top votes, but was only on 14 ballots. Hellebucyk finishes a
distant third but had 4 first place votes and Shersterkin and Stolarz
each had a single top nod.
Doug Harvey Trophy (Top
Defensive Dman) - Moritz Seider, Edmonton
Seider edges out
Makar, 7-6, on first place votes and finishes up on 15 total ballots
to win this award. Makar was just a little behind in second and
Gavrikov gets 3 first place votes in finishing up 3rd. Werenski had a
pair of top votes and Andersson, Carlson, Matheson and Ekman-Larsson
all had a single first place vote in a wide open race for this award.
Bobby Orr Award (Top Offensive Dman) - Cale Makar, Calgary
Makar gets 10 first place votes to 8 for Lane Hutson who
finished a close second in the voting. Quinn Hughes wasn't too far
back in third with 3 first place votes and the last top spot goes to
Carlson who finished quite a ways back. Bouchard was the only other
dman to get more than 10 points as this one was dominated by the top
3.
Bob Gainey Trophy (Top Defensive Forward) - Jason
Robertson, Vancouver
In another fairly close vote, Robertson
gets 7 first place votes, to 5 for Bo Horvat who finishes up in
second. Alex Tuch finishes third with 2 first place votes, but on 11
ballots overall, while Scheifele gets 3 first place votes finishing up
4th. Marner has a pair of top nods, while Rantanen, Johnston and
Marchenko all get a single first place vote.
Cam Neely
Award (Top Power Forward) - Mikko Rantanen, Anaheim
In a
surprise finish, there is NOT a Tkachuk at the top of this category
for the first time in 5 seasons. Rantanen gets 11 first place votes to
win this one going away, though Brady Tkachuk foes finish secdond with
5 first place votes and Tom Wilson earns 4 top nods to finish 3rd.
Kadri and Benn get the other top votes in this category though JT
Miller does finish 4th on the strength of 10 second place votes.
Ace Bailey Award (Rookie of the Year - Macklin Celebrini, Los
Angeles
In the "Thanks Captain Obvious" category, Macklin
Celebrini is the run away rookie of the year with 15 first place votes
and 93 total points, highest this awards season. Michkov finishes with
the other 7 first place votes and is by far the second place winner,
while Will Smith finishes third with 7 second place votes and 9 third
place votes to be on 16 ballots overall. Jakub Dobes was the only
other player to break into double figures for points on this one.
Scotty Bowman Award (Coach of the Year) - Kerri Taylor, San
Jose
Taylor gets 9 first place votes, almost twice as many as
Dean Engemoen (5) who finished in second place. PO Boulianne had 4
first place votes and finished in third and then single tops nods went
to Jeremy Martinyuk, Craig Steel, Sean Savage and Cordell McCormick.
Sam Pollock Award (GM of the Year) - Kerri Taylor, San
Jose
Taylor pulls of the double, but it wasn't easy, as she
only had 5 first place votes but was on 14 ballots. Sean Savage
finishes second with 4 first place votes, but is on 12 ballots and
finishes just 4 points back. Dean Engemoen actually has 7 first place
votes, but everyone else seemed to forget about him as he only made to
other ballots with third place votes on both to finish in third. Jean
Marois has 2 first place votes, while Martinyuk, Steel, McCormick and
C McNeil all get a single top nod to round out the voting.
Bob Nystrom Award (Playoffs MVP) - Jordan Binnington, SJS
Binnington was the driving force behind San Jose's playoff run and
they won't finish where they do without him playing well above his
stats and keeping the in games long enough for the offense to pull out
some wins.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 03/10/2026.
You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick
comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier
for everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about
an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait
til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will sim games so I can
get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
