THE COMMISSIONER
A lot of movement this block, though much of
it doesn’t make sense, so we’ll give a detailed update of the playoff
races. Some free agent signings for Carolina to cover some missing
goalie games. And some team who looked to be out of it making a come
back. Thanks to all for getting games in on time, fyi I will be away
til later the night these are due but should still get things out on
time. There is another game update, make sure you get it from our
website before you play any games!
In the
Campbell, San Jose has a big 13 point lead on Toronto and have
clinched a playoff spot with 18 games left to play. Toronto will
clinch this block and assuming they don’t make up a huge deficit wait
to see if Boston can hold off the rest of the division for that #3
spot and a trip to the Leafs. Vancouver has also clinched a playoff
spot, but hold just a 6 point lead over Florida in 2nd, but
they are only 4 points up on Edmonton for home ice in round 1.Colrado
at 70 points are in the first Wild Card spot and ahead of the second
spot by 16 points over the Flames who will have some work to do
holding off LA, Montreal and Pittsburgh. Dallas is 12 points back and
barring a miracle their season is complete.
In the Prince
of Wales conference the two NY teams are in a dead heat for the top
spot in their division but both have work to do clinching playoff
spots possibly this block. Detroit and NJ are quite a ways back, but
both are comfortably 8n playoff positions with 18 games left to play.
Utah and Philly are in a similar deadlock in the Horton division, but
St. Louis is just 5 points back and hanging around to make it a tough
fight to the finish for the top 3 spots in that division. Somehow,
Buffalo has fought their way back into a playoff spot despite being
big sellers are the deadline, going 7-1 on home ice the last two
blocks will do that for you and 8-2 overall in the last 10 doesn’t do
much for draft hopes, so instead they may have to play spoilers in the
playoffs. Chicago is 3 points back and Anaheim 7 of that final wild
card spot with just Washington and Carolina looking to be about done
for the season. Should be a lot more going on this block with more
teams wrapping up spots and possible things getting either clearer or
tighter in both wild card races for the 8th spot.
Block 8 is in
the books, files are ready for block 9. Remember that all injuries
this year are coaches decisions BUT all players are limited to the
exact number of NHL games from last year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a
regular coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for
each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a
lot more flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your
first 4 road games, please send that out to the list (and list who the
coach is for so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to continue using
the strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I
did in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 03/10/2026.
You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games
by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick
comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier
for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after
sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about
an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an
extension of time, I will
wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will sim games
so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
