MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Trade deadline was here and gone with some more moves and things really may have changed as the teams going for it all seem to have made some moves during these first 7 weeks of the season. Now the playoff races will begin I earnest and we will see who’s moves pay off and who maybe didn’t do much because they were that good already. In the Prince of Wales, just  2 teams really out of it with the Caps 15 points out of a playoff spot and Carolina 11, Ducks, Sabres and Blackhawks fighting for that last spot. In the Campbell conference 6 teams are basically already in the playoffs with the Avs sitting in 6th place and 14 points clear of the 9th place team. Flames hold a 5 point lead for the wild card #2 over the the Kings, but 4 other teams could still sneak back in there. The really crazy part is the Orr division with the Sharks at 79 points, Maple Leafs at 72 points and then 3rd place, which is a playoff spot regardless of wild card, is Boston 25 points back from the Leafs and then the Stars in last place just 9 points back (with the Kings and Canadiens in between). One of those 4 teams will get in and the other 3 likely have no other chance but that spot as the Kings sit 14 points behind Avs in 9th spot. We’ll see what block 8 brings with some of the bottom teams giving up a lot of talent the last couple of blocks in trades as they look to the future. We will see who can make the right moves in the standings to clinch some playoff spots sooner rather than later.

Block 7 is in the books, files are ready for block 8. Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last year, so plan accordingly.  If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).  Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.  I am going to continue using the strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I did in the past so they are easy to find when needed.

**** IMPORTANT  - Action PC Game File Update dated 02/13/2026.

You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY, both the exports AND boxscores please.   Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for everyone to see what is going on.  If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.  Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
