MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
This is the last 10 games of the season, all
divisional matchups, and a lot of playoff positioning left to decide.
Another good season for all and should be an exciting final block of
the season, please, even if you are out of the playoffs, give it your
all and let’s keep the playoff races interesting right down to the
final games. Good luck to all!
Clarence
Campbell conference the top 3 teams in each division have clinched a
playoff spot but seeding is still up in the air with little room
between them as they fight for that top seed and home ice. Pittsburgh
is in the first wild card spot and have a 15 point lead on Toronto, so
need just 3 wins to clinch a spot. Edmonton’s hold on the second wild
card is a little bit more tenuous as they have a 9 point lead on
Toronto and need 6 wins to clinch for sure (though Toronto losses help
too). Dallas, Los Angeles and Calgary are mathematically alive but the
life support is running out fast and a couple wins from Edmonton will
put them all away.
Prince of
Wales conference is a lot different with St. Louis, Arizona and NY
Rangers the only teams clinched so far. St. Louis and Arizona are 2
points apart as they fight for the top of the Horton while NY has a 15
point lead in the Howe and can clinch the division with 3 wins (or NYI
losses). Philadelphia sits at 86 points, 11 points ahead of Anaheim
and in good position to continue to the playoffs. NY Islanders are 7
points up on Carolina in second place in the Howe and also in pretty
good spot with 10 games to go. From there we have 6 teams who sit 4
points apart fighting for the final 3 playoff spots. Carolina is in 3rd
in the Howe, but are anywhere but secure, while Anaheim sits in the
first wild card spot at 75 points and New Jersey is in wild card #2
with 74 points. Buffalo, Chicago and Detroit are at 72 points, so this
is going to be a fight to the death over these final 10 games. Only
Washington is out and have a good look at the top lottery spot.
Block 10 is
ready to go and the updated league file and Excel file is on the
website. Remember that all
injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all players are limited
to the exact number of NHL games from last year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a
regular coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for
each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a
lot more flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your
first 4 road games, please send that out to the list (and list who the
coach is for so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to continue using
the strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I
did in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 10/16/2024.
You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment
for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly about an
hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait
til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I will sim games so I can
get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
