MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Thanks for getting everything in on time guys and for getting all of the trades confirmed.  The trade deadline has passed with a flurry of trades today, though the funny thing is they were the first deals of the regular season!  Please, watch your usage and injuries very carefully the rest of the season and good luck!

Files are up and ready to go for block 9, please get them and get strats out by Wednesday night and if possible don’t make me chase you for them!  Two more players overused this block, please keep a close eye on things, it is important guys and I hate having to dish out penalties at the end of the year when the game makes it pretty easy to track this now.

With the trade deadline past, the playoff races will start to move into the final drive and things are really starting to take shape.  In the Prince of Wales Conference the top 8 teams are pretty well set with 8th place St. Louis  sitting 15 points clear of 9th place Washington and 18 ahead of Phoenix.  Philly and Chicago are all but eliminated already.  New Jersey holds the top spot in the Howe while Buffalo has a 7 point lead in the Horton.  Anaheim and St. Louis are 2nd and 3rd in the Horton while Detroit and Carolina are the same in the Howe.  NY Islanders hold the first wild card and NY Rangers hold the second one giving the Howe 5 teams in the playoffs.  In the Clarence Campbell conference Vancouver holds the top spot, while Toronto hold the tie breaker for the top spot in the Orr Division.  Dallas and Boston sit 2/3 in the Orr while Edmonton and Calgary are the same in the Lemieux.  San Jose holds the first wild card while Florida and Pittsburgh are tied for the final spot.  LA, Montreal and Colorado are all within 11 points of the playoffs and no one is really eliminated at this point.
