MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER

Good block getting games in on time, thanks to all for your hard work. We hit the halfway point of the season with the trade deadline just 4 weeks away and it is time to start making those moves towards the playoffs or next season depending on where your team sits.  Please, watch your usage and injuries very carefully the rest of the season and good luck!

Files are up and ready to go for block 6, please get them and get strats out by Wednesday night and if possible don’t make me chase you for them!  One player overused again this block, please keep a close eye on things, it is important guys and I hate having to dish out penalties at the end of the year when the game makes it pretty easy to track this now.

A little more definition to the playoff races this block as some teams start to fall out of the race and others move well out front.  In the POW Buffalo and Detroit lead their respective divisions, with Anaheim and St. Louis in 2nd/3rd in the Horton and New Jersey and Carolina in the same spot for the Howe.  NY Islanders hold a solid lead for the first wildcard slot and then the NY Rangers make the 5th Howe division team currently in the playoffs with a big lead over Phoenix and Washington who are in danger of being eliminated early while Chicago and Philadelphia already sit over 20 points out of the playoffs and likely jockeying for draft position.  In the CC things are a lot tighter as Toronto hold just a 1 point lead in the Orr over both Dallas and Boston, while Vancouver is 5 points up on Calgary and Edmonton.  San Jose and Florida hold the two wildcard slots by a single point over Pittsburgh with LA, Montreal and Colorado still well in the playoff race.
