MESSAGE FROM THE COMMISSIONER
Final block of the season, some
email glitches slowed things up, but we should still have plenty of
time to finish on schedule. Please, make sure you try and get your
games done as soon as you can. I will attempt to update the playoff
standings as I get enough games to make it worth doing. We will get
started right into the playoffs as soon as the season ends, so be
ready to keep rolling for those still in. For those who are out, we
will discuss any rule additions/changes and do a little voting and
then your season will be over for the summer.
In the
Prince of Wales conference the NY Rangers have clinched the Howe
division with a 20 point lead over Carolina and hold a 6 point lead
for the conference. St. Louis leads the Horton by 4 points over
Arizona in a two team race for the division. Arizona has all but
locked up home ice in round 1 regardless with a 15 point lead over 3rd
place where Philly and Buffalo are tied and Anaheim is just 4 points
back. Carolina has a 4 point lead over Detroit for 2nd
in the Howe and Jersey is 12 points back and likely needs a wild card
to get in the playoffs. Buffalo currently holds down the first wild
card and Anaheim has the second with a 7 point lead over New Jersey in
9th and then Chicago and
Washington have slim chances to get to the playoffs. Islanders are the
only team officially eliminated, but likely will have company pretty
quickly as games start coming in for block 10.
In the
Campbell conference Florida holds an 8 point lead in the Lemieux
Division but just a 4 point lead over Dallas for the conference.
Dallas has a 15 point lead in the Orr and has little work left to do
to clinch that spot. Vancouver holds a 14 point lead in the Lemieux
for 2nd place and home
ice against the third place team, currently Pittsburgh but they have
just a 3 point lead over Edmonton in 4th
place and the #1 wildcard. Montreal is the 2nd
seed in Orr with a 3 point lead over San Jose for home ice and a
matchup that is pretty well set. Colorado holds on to the second Wild
Card spot, 6 points up on Calgary and only Los Angeles is slightly
alive but 17 points back so it is a matter of time. Boston and Toronto
are done and setting up tee times.
Block
10 files are up and ready to go.
Remember that all injuries this year are
coaches decisions BUT all players are limited to the exact number of
NHL games from last year, so plan accordingly.
If you are sending the same lineup for all 8
games then just a regular coach should work. If you want to set
specific lineups for each game, then you need to use the Daily Lineups
as it gives you a lot more flexibility. As soon as you have your coach
set for your 5 road games, please send that out to the list (and list
who the coach is for so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they
need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 5 home strats
as well both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home
games for any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if
none is defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I
am going to continue using the strat file page and upload everyones
coaches to the website like I did in the past so they are easy to find
when needed.

IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 11/14/2023.
You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all
4 home games
by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is
MANDATORY, both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one
quick
comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes
it easier for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after
sending updates on Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request
directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an
extension of
time, I will wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday
night.
