MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
Just 2 block and 18 games left in the regular
season and the playoff races are shaping up. Just an FYI, I will be
away towards the end of the block, so don’t expect any files for the
final block until Monday night as we are out of town for a short trip.
Please try and get your games in on time, but you do have an extra day
as long as I have them by 5 pm on Monday.
So now, the
games are getting very important, let’s see what we have in the way of
who is in and who is out. In the Prince of Wales conference, NY
Rangers are on top with a 14 point lead in the division and 5 points
overall in the conference. St.Louis has the second seed with a 5 point
lead in the Horton division over Arizona who is 8 points up on Buffalo
for 3rd and home ice in round 1. Carolina sits 2dn and
Detroit third in the Howe division and on course for a first round
matchup and a fight to see who has home ice. Philadelphia is in 4th
in the Horton, 4 points back of Buffalo but 8 points up in the wild
card race and sitting in the 7th seed. Chicago holds down
the final wild card, but only by 2 points over Anaheim and 6 over New
Jersey so everyone there is still alive. Washington sits 8 points out
of the playoffs with a couple of teams in between, so are a long shot
while NY Islanders are all but eliminated with 30 points to make up
and only a possible 36 to get.
In the
Campbell Conference, Florida is on top, 6 points clear in the Lemieux
and 4 points ahead of Dallas who has a big lead in the Orr division.
Vancouver is just 6 points behind Florida with their deadline moves
and the only other team with a shot in that division. Montreal is in
second in the Orr, 11 points back and with San Jose only 4 points
behind them ass the two fight for home ice in round 1 with the next
team 19 points behind and no real threat. Edmonton has a tenuous hold
on third in the Lemieux by just 1 point over Pittsburgh who is solidly
the top wild card team. Colorado doesn’t seem to be a threat for third
in the division, but hold a 11 point lead in the final wild card spot
with both LA and Calgary pretty far behind and Boston even further.
Toronto sits 24 points behind and could be eliminated in block 9.
Block 9 files
are up and ready to go.
Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all
players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last year,
so plan accordingly. If
you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular
coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game,
then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more
flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road
games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for
so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to continue using
the strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I
did in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 11/14/2023.
You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment
for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait
til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday
night.
