MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
Two weeks until the trade deadline and most
of the division races have tightened up as no lead is more than 10
points for any division leader. In the Prince of Wales, only NY
Islanders are definitely out of the playoffs while Washington is 9
points back and has a lot of work to do to get back in it. NY Rangers
have a large 9 point lead on Carolina with Detroit close behind while
Chicago and Anaheim are tied for the final wild card with Jersey
lurking. In the Campbell, Florida is just 2 points ahead of Vancouver
in the Lemieux and Dallas has a 9 point lead over Montreal in the Orr.
LA, Boston, Calgary and Toronto are all at least 14 points out of the
playoffs, so there isn’t much of a playoff race there, just jockeying
for positions in the top 8 with Colorado and Edmonton tied for the
final wild card but with a 20 point lead, so really nowhere to go but
up. Thanks to all for getting games in on time this week and fighting
through a couple of difficulties. Reminder that the end of this block
is the trade deadline and both teams must confirm with me by 9 pm
eastern or the trade didn’t happen. Good luck to all and let’s keep
this thing rolling!
Block 7 files
are up and ready to go.
Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all
players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last year,
so plan accordingly. If
you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular
coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game,
then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more
flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road
games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for
so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to continue using
the strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I
did in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 11/14/2023.
You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick comment
for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an extension of time, I will wait
til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will sim games so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday
night.
