MESSAGE FROM
THE COMMISSIONER
Four blocks down, the halfway point of the
season is just two weeks away and then the trade deadline 4 weeks, the
season is flying by. Only
a few teams who really look to be out of it so far (Calgary, Toronto,
NY Islanders) so may take a couple more blocks to find out who are the
buyers and sellers. Let’s stay on top of getting coaches out on time
please, we have been a bit lax on that and I am going to tighten
things up going forward. Coaches are due on Wednesday nights, if you
need an extra day or two, please let me know. If they are not out by
Friday night, I will allow teams to play with your coach from the
prior block. Same with game results, I don’t have the kind of free
time I used to and my old ass can’t stay up half the night waiting
anymore, so if I don’t have games by 10 pm and don’t hear and answer
to my email that you are working on them, I will have to sim for you
and get the files out. I will work with you if you need it, but I
can’t if I don’t hear that you need my help.
Block 5 files
are up and ready to go.
Remember that all injuries this year are coaches decisions BUT all
players are limited to the exact number of NHL games from last year,
so plan accordingly. If
you are sending the same lineup for all 8 games then just a regular
coach should work. If you want to set specific lineups for each game,
then you need to use the Daily Lineups as it gives you a lot more
flexibility. As soon as you have your coach set for your first 4 road
games, please send that out to the list (and list who the coach is for
so it is easier for teams to keep the ones they need).
Also, I would ask you PLEASE include your 4 home strats as well
both for your sake and mine as if I have to sim your home games for
any reason I will just let the game set up your strat if none is
defined and you will have to deal with any penalties later on.
I am going to continue using
the strat file page and upload everyones coaches to the website like I
did in the past so they are easy to find when needed.
**** IMPORTANT
- Action PC Game File Update dated 11/14/2023.
You need to send out game exports as well as boxscores for all 4 home
games
by the second Sunday of the block at 9 pm This is MANDATORY,
both the exports
AND boxscores please.
Game summaries are nice, even if it’s just one quick
comment for all 4 games, just adds to the league and makes it easier
for
everyone to see what is going on.
If I do not receive game exports after
sending updates on
Saturday and Sunday, I will send one more request directly
about
an hour before the deadline on Sunday.
Unless I get a request for an
extension of time, I will
wait til the deadline and about 30 minutes later I
will sim games
so I can get new files out before I go to bed Sunday night.
